z1 lens shift

Narrowing the possibilities to (like half the other posters here!) either the bargain Sanyo Z1 or spending a great deal more for the HS10. One fairly key point is their respective flexibility re siting.

the optical lens shift on the Z1 is very appealing (although why oh why couldn't the starting point be level with the top or bottom rather than the middle of the screen). Now if I understand the specs properly the lens shift will shift vertically, with the max shift meaning that the projector can be level with the bottom or top of the screen. Or horizontally by approx 1/4 of the screen width - so the lens is level with a vertical line 25% across the screen.

Can one of the numerous Z1 owners let me know if these maximums can be taken together - ie. can I point the projector at a point 25% along the bottom edge of the screen by using the lens shift or is it a case of one or the other?

cheers
Phil

thanks for the very prompt reply - so just to get it straight in my now very sleepy brain - I can dial in the maximum amount of lens shift on both horizontal and vertical at the same time?

Excellent - thanks, that's prob just about made my decision then ... cheque to mr Sanyo will soon be in the post.

Anyone got any recommendations for retailers, Haven't seen any bad comments about AV-Sales and they're also based in the South East so quite appealing.

cheers
Phil

www.nexnix.co.uk

Bought my sanyo from them, fantastic service, 24 hour delivery and a dead pixel check (which I don't think av-sales honour) - £1300 give or take a few quid.

I'd second nexnix, I followed smurfin's recomendation, they were helpful beyond the call of duty and I managed to get one before Xmas even though I only decided to buy one the day before Chrismas eve. They did a dead pixel check for me too, sadly a stuck blue has developed since, but it's right on the edge so I think I'll leave it.

Anyway, get the z1, I think for value for money it can't be beaten.

I have recently got a z1 from nexnix who did the dead pixel check. No probs but I do see faint vertical banding. Does anyone know if this can be cured or is it a replacement thing. I dont really want to send it back and if I know that the prob can be cured in setup will be satisfied.
