My Projector

For anyone who followed my previous thread.

Panasonic told me today that my PT AE 100 is repaired and on its way back to me . Although it is coming via the dealers, so I dont know when it will actually turn up.

Panasonic informed me that it was the PSU that went and has been replaced. It concerns me that dodgy PSUs were still being put into July2002 models, when they had been identified as iffy several months earlier.

I am impressed by the speed of Panasonics turnaround, especially at this time of year. The picked the unit up on 16 Dec and despatched it on 6 Jan. If I had dealt directly with Panasonic I would not have had to pay to send the PJ back, they collect.

I will let you know when it arrives back where it belongs.

Good News

It will be back with me tomorrow.

Time between breakdown and return = 48 days.

Time between return to retailer and return = 45 days.

Time taken by Panasonic to receipt, repair and despatch = 21 days.

Panasonics repair took place between 16 Dec and 6 Jan, therefore incuding Xmas holidays. I find this turnaround very impressive.

What shall I watch first

Hi MMbrush,

Happy news - glad to hear it. After last night's visit from Kramer, I'm going around muttering "Superbit, Superbit". If you don't have it, treat yourself to 5th Element Sbit, (or any of the others which tickle you fancy), and see the wonders it does for your picture! I'm in love with my AE100 again.

I'd say this was a pretty uncontroversial post, wouldn't you ?

All the best,

Sean G.
