Anyone heard anymore about the Projection Design M25

I need a small but skilled projector and for this reason the PDs have always appealed when otherwise the likes of the JVC or Sim D80 would have been perfect. Now I see that theres a 1080P version coming, equipped with their brilliant colour technology.

Very few forum users seem to have Projection Design units and I wonder whether this is a function of their comparative rarity or that in the past they have been simply outclassed. What does the community feel about these devices ? I notice that they seem to win a fair handful of awards and Best Buys.

I think the general view is that Projection Design are very good but very expensive, hence low sales - they are not a 'mass market' brand.

Re: Anyone heard anymore about the Projection Design M25

Hi Pat,

I suppose it is slightly related, but just got my grubby mits on an ex-demo Ation Model 2 (just 41 hours on the lamp). Good price at £1500 as well. Got to say that build quality is fantastic. Not been able to give it a proper road test yet as my screen has gone back for repair and my 9 year old DVD player died on me as it has not been used for 8 months due to re-furbing our house! Fed it a VGA signal from my laptop so know it works.

The M25 is going to around the £5000 mark which is very expensive for a single chip dlp. BUt I believe the optics they use and materials they use are excellent. Their projectors also look a class above others I have seen, and the size is a massive plus point if you wnat something that size.

Best bet will be to get a demo against a Sim2 or JVC HD-1.

In the meantime - I wil settle for what I have!

James

Generally all their pj's do outstanding well in reviews.

The company does not serve the mass market but builds great projector's for a special audience.
If you like the design and want to spent a lot of money you will get something special for sure.
