How to watch freeview thru PTax100 pj?

Hi
Apologies for asking this basic question. I have a Panasonic ax100 PJ and wondered how I would connect a freeview box to it to be able to view TV.
The set top box (the cheap one from Asda-sorry) that I have has 2 scart connections ( 1 says TV the other says VCR )
The PJ does not have a scart input.?
Can anyone advise.
Sorry if this is a lame question.

All help appreciated.
Thanks

Re: How to watch freeview thru PTax100 pj?

First up - check if BOTH:
a) the projector has an SVideo input (looks rather like a PS2 mouse connector - small round, 4 small pins/sockets)
b) the Freeview box can output SVideo via either of the Scarts.

If the answer to both is yes, use SVideo. If not, you will have to use composite video. Svideo is a lot better than composite.

You will need a {SCART} to {Audio & Video and SVideo adaptor} such as Maplins L85BA, and a cable (either SVideo, with Svideo plug at either end, or composite video, with a RCA phono plug at either end) long enough to reach your projector.

buy a box to convert the rgb scart signal to component for better quality if you are going to watch a lot of tv through the PJ.

They come up in the classifieds on here quiet regularly there is one on flea bay but at £70 from US is expensive and you could do a lot better on here

Re: How to watch freeview thru PTax100 pj?

Try using one of these - I use it to connect my Pioneer Freeview box to my PT-AX100. You will obviously need an RGB enabled SCART cable and a component cable also.

Just make sure that your Freeview box does output an RGB signal over it's SCART output. I see no reason why it wouldn't, but this converter would be useless if it didn't!!

LOL

Seriously, you should buy a mid-range set top box at least ... especially if your using a projector, the video output quality is going to be bad if the box is very cheap!

As always with electronics:

put rubbish in = rubbish out
