Has anyone tried the Lektropacks RGB Scart - Component convertor?

Saw this advertised in What Hifi for £75 & wondered if anyone had tried it yet?

Does quality suffer through this type of device?

Would simplify connection if Sky and DVD could be hooked up to AV amp for video switching.

Cheers
Rob.

Also noticed that JS Technology do a similar device for £145.

Anyone tried either?

Cheers

Hi Rob

I am also interested in how good these convertors work.
Have you tried posting in the Plasma section, you may get more response from there.
Keene do one as well, not sure how much it is though.

Hi,

Nobber, the keene advertising suggests that this unit works the other way around as well (i.e yuv to rgb) .........

Does it actually do that ?

SYNCBLASTER COMPONENT TO RGB TRANSCODER Another new in-house product from Keene Electronics, the C2RGB can convert from an RGB input to a component (Y Pb Pr) output, or, at the push of a switch from a component (Y Pb Pr) input to an RGB output. It can cater for sync on green or composite sync input and also provide sync on green or composite sync output. LED indicators provide useful information on the type of signals present and which process is being performed. Its been designed to be installed “in-line” with the signal path and has SCART input and output connectors to make connection simple. Its provided complete with a UK mains adaptor and a KA150 scart to 3 phono adaptor. Please ask for our full datasheet or view more information at http://www.syncblaster.com

I've been using the JS Technology one for a week or so, between an NTL digital cable box and an AE100. Does what it says on the ti... er, website.
Mr. JS claims it's the best of its kind, but it's not the most complex conversion in the world, so a cheaper model might be OK.
He only takes cheques, but the whole turnaround was only five days.
