will these guys do a dead pixel check, ive been umming and rrring about getting ones of these as a stop gap untill i can afford a 2k projector, well id almost decided to save for a ae300 and nice screen but at £600 im very very very tempted. even if it dies after 1000 hrs at just over £1 for most films thats a bargain

I just emailed them. They don't do a dead pixel check and they stick to the ISO standards regarding dead pixels.

So in other words, if you buy one from them and it's got a couple of dead pixels, you're stuck with it.

The ISO standard is quite longwinded as you would expect.

Here a link to an article on Tom's Hardware guide, describing the standard.

http://www4.tomshardware.com/display...pixels-06.html

I think most home projectors fall into class 2 of the standard

It all boils down to up to 5 defective pixels is acceptable, depending on where they are on the screen. Therefore 3 right in the middle of the screen is less acceptable than 5 around the edge.

Hope this helps.
