AE1000 cinema reality

how do i switch this on.

the reason i ask is that since updating my PS3 to 1080/24 i note that its being picked up at that setting by the panny.

however do i have to turn anything on the projector to accept that signal or is it done automatically.

cinema reality is always blanked out on my projector

Re: AE1000 cinema reality

Hi FGEvans1,

in the manual it states that for the cinema reality fuction to be active then it must be fed a 1080i (interlaced) signal.

When i use my toshiba HD A1 which poutputs 1080i + sky hd which is 1080i the option is there....

when playing a blu ray move from my ps3, if the ps3 is set yto output at max resolutuon and the new 1080/24 option is ticked under settings the when pressing the menu button on the projector it says its playing at 1080/24p.

So it looks like it accepts the signal although when polaying the blu ray disc the actual option cinema reality is also blanked out...

Re: AE1000 cinema reality

do you know what cinema reality does?

by the sounds of it, it stitches a 1080i source back to 1080p and possibly reverses 3:2 pulldown to give you 24fps.

if your feeding it 1080p24 then you have nothing else to worry about other than choosing blu-ray or hd-dvd discs which currently is causing me problems

Re: AE1000 cinema reality

According to a (translatted) review on Cine4home.de the Cinema Reality mode is mearly a 60Hz optimised deinterlacer, it does not convert 60Hz to 24Hz.

This would imply that with 50Hz interlaced it would appear that is does nothing. I certainly can't see a difference when switching it on or off when fed with a 1080i/50Hz signal, such as from my upscaling DVD or from my PC when watching BBC HD.
