PJ-TX200 needs new bulb

i'm considering buying a PJ-TX200 that needs a new bulb, i have a few questions how easy are they to fit yourself?

If you have to pay how much does it cost and where could i take it to? (north west england)

Where's the cheapest place to get the replacement bulb from?

Are there any other pitfalls to watch out for with projectors than need new bulbs?

Would you be a bit cautious buying a projector second hand that needed a new bulb? Seems strange that the seller doesn't just replace the bulb themselves.

How much would you say a second hand PJ-TX200 needing a new bulb is worth?

Re: PJ-TX200 needs new bulb

lol....

I've asked the seller a bunch of questions, not heared anything back yet, bit worrying.

Seems strange that they haven't just replaced the bulb themselves, maybe they can't be bothered.

Still might be worth a punt.

Re: PJ-TX200 needs new bulb

bulbs are quite expensive, your talking from 100 to 300 quid

he probably thought its wasnt feasible buying a new bulb and may aswell sell the projector and buy a new one.

also id want to see what the quality is like with a new bulb as it may have other problems.

personally id never buy a pj that needed a bulb

has it got a bulb in it? his old one may of exploded in the unit which wont do you any favours

Re: PJ-TX200 needs new bulb

I've spotted something really dodgy on the ebay auction he has three bidders bidding on the item called "bidder 1" "bidder 2" and "bidder 3" each bidder has a high level of bidding activity with this seller. Sounds like this could be a scam or someone trying to bid up their own item.

Just to let you know, ebay have now changed the way people bid on expensive items, Bidder 1, Bidder 2 etc (to stop fake second chance offers) If that's what you were worried about

Re: PJ-TX200 needs new bulb

ok found this on ebay

To help keep the eBay community safe, enhance bidder privacy, and protect our members from fraudulent emails (such as fake second chance offers), eBay has changed how bid history information is displayed. If you place a bid on a higher-priced item, only you and the seller of the item can view your User ID in the bid history. Other members can no longer view User IDs and will see anonymous names, such as Bidder 1.

You learn something everyday

It should say above the bidders in the auction bid history, it says;
