Solution for using the JVC DLA-HD1 with a 12v triggered screen

This information is for owners of the HD1 who require a 12v trigger.

I have solved the problem with the HD1 not having a 12v trigger quite simply in my set up. I am using one of these:

I use the Intelliplug along with a 12v adapter. The 12v adapter is connected directly to the screen's 12v trigger interface. Both the HD1 and the 12v adapter are plugged in to the Intelliplug. The Intelliplug intelligently provides power to the 12v adapter only when the HD1 comes out of standby and switches off the power to the adapter when the HD1 goes into standby. This allows the screen to come down automatically when the HD1 powers up and then to go back up when it powers down. As an added bonus the Intelliplug also provides surge protection.

The Intelliplug costs £12.95 from John Lewis and the 12v adapter costs £5.95 from Maplin.

For more information on the Intelliplug see here:

Regards,

Steve

Steve, this is a great post !! Even for people with 12volt triggers on there PJ's it will save more wires being run, and has power surge !!

My PJ does have a trigger BUT i will now look into this way of connecting up. Regards Si
