Re: jvc hd1

Only problem with creative video, they only offer 12months guarantee and 500 hours on bulb, just e-mail them and the manager stated it was a professional guarantee, he also stated that I could have a consumer guarantee which would be more expensive

Quote:
Dear Steven

The DLA-HD1 is currently in stock and the standard JVC Professional Warranty is 12 months RTB & 500h bulb life.

The warranty of the consumer supplied unit (same product) is different and is reflected in the higher price!

Kind regards,

Yours sincerely,

Phil Baxter
Managing Director

Steve

I can't answer that directly due to forum rules but the difference between the Pro and consumers versions is about £50.

Is there an actual difference between the product specifications apart from warranty?

Hi AVI
He stated in one email that it was the same unit, just that it comes from JVC professional

Quote:
Dear Steve

Our stock comes from JVC professional and carries a professional warranty which is 12 months...

We could source you a consumer derived product and price-match a competitor as required.

Kind regards,
The 3 year guarantee is great peace of mind and you would think that's what you are getting regardless of where you buy your HD1 from

Steve

I may be wrong here because I don't really keep up with US product codes but they appear to have a similar situation over there as over here. In the States, consumer sell the DLA-HD1 and professional sell the DLA-RS1. They appear to be the same machine but with a different product code.

Re: jvc hd1

Ken - both HD1 and RS1 are available in the States. HD1 is consumer; RS1 is sold by JVC Pro. The only difference is in the finish: the RS1 is all black, including a non-reflective black front plate. Personally, I would have preferred this as mine is in a dedicated cinema, but we weren't given the option in Europe.
