Please help with my panasonic swiching itsself off

Hi..
Hope some 1 can help me with my new Panasonic AX100E, its brand new but only stay's on for a maximum of 2 minits as im trying to set it up & going thru the menu it just switches its self off,(into standby mode) the light goes from green to red, it wont turn back on either ... i have to swich it off at the mains then restart it again, but 2 min's then off it goes again, even when its receiving a picture from my dvd player, No other light comes on to say if its too hot, ive just had this machine, it replaced my SANYO Z2..Hope i havnt made a mistake !!

Im really hoping that its something im doing wrong rather than a faulty machine.
Any help would be really appricated..... thanks

Re: Please help with my panasonic swiching itsself off

Yes the sleep mode was the 1st thing i checked, ive put the panasonic on a few times tonight & its exacly 2 mins then it goes in to standby mode !! there is no way of turning the machine back on from either the remote or from pressing the power button on, the only way to turn it back on is to swich it off at the mains then re-start the machine, ive also read the manual cover to cover to see if im doing anything wrong, but as far as i can see im not... looks as if this machine will be going back to the dealer asap !!!

I think you have to send it back, sounds like you have the famous AX100 iris-failure shutdown

Re: Please help with my panasonic swiching itsself off

Talking of the iris failure issue, is this something that's likely to happen sooner rather than later on a unit? i.e. now that I've run mine for over a month and got over 200 hours on it is it possible that it might happen or is it only likely to happen right at the start of the unit's life?

Re: Please help with my panasonic swiching itsself off

Just a quick update on my panasonic. i rang panasonic today & they told me the machine is deff faulty & to return it to my dealer asap... i rang my dealer (the 1 who charged me £1100 .00 )...they said to return it & they will check the panasonic & send me a new machine out on monday26th of march!! i will then have it delivered on wednesday 28th that's 12 day's from now.. seeems a bit long to have to wait for a replacement i think, esp as they charged me so much for the machine maybe im being fussy, but my £1100 is sitting in their bank when it could be in mine !!.

Can you please tell me more about the AX100 iris failure shutdown ?? to be honest ive never heared of it, i read the review on this site & in the MARCH issue of what hifi & bort it thinking it was the best thing since sliced bread...
good job ive still got my trusty Z2 to keep me going,

Thank you to everyone that has taken the time to respond to my appeal for help.
