HD70 screen headache (not literally)

Hi,

I've been browsing about the web for days and weeks now trying to find a suitable screen for my HD70. I need a pull-up screen that goes flush against a wall (the wall can't take a mounted screen). The only one that fits the bill is one I found on Ebay, its pull-up, its 80"..just one problem..its ultra reflective.
From what I hear this is a bad thing for DLP projectors, the best is matt or grey.
Can anyone correct me if I am wrong or if I am right I would love to hear about a pull-up screen that is non reflective, 80" 16:9 and will stand against a wall.

Any help greatly appreciated because I am now quite

Hi there can you not try the outlet where you purchased your projector surely they should have suitable options available or try contacting large av outlets here are but a few

sevenoaks
hifi bitz
hiwayhifi.com
sound & vision
Hi Spek
Electro Saver
RGB HI FI & VIDEO
AUDIO VISUAL ONLINE

you will need to hit the phones ( unfortunately) sometimes by speaking to the right people they can advise you where to go which what the web doesnt do

try approaching Clare Newsome at What Hi Fi Sound & Vision she is the editor there here email is clare.newsome@haymarket.com
maybe that is a subject they can write about in their NEXT mag

Re: HD70 screen headache (not literally)

Many thanks for the advice. I got my HD70 from Dixons online and they don't have anything suitable. I'll try out those outlets you mentioned and see where I get too. I'll post my findings.

Thanks again for the reply

My screen is screwed to the ceiling if that is any help. Behind it is a chimney brest which is not wide enough.

I believe some screens come with hook so they can dangle from the ceiling. The weight of them should stop them from moving about.

Re: HD70 screen headache (not literally)

Hi
There is a special PJ screen section to this forum, I know your question included something specific to the HD70 but maybe worth a poke around there for advice.

http://www.avforums.com/forums/projector-screens/

The screens are not *that* heavy, and as said, you can mount them to the ceiling, you could even use bookshelf brackets to mount it to the wall and hang it from the ceiling points (so you have 4/6/8 screws in the wall instead of 2)

Re: HD70 screen headache (not literally)

Thanks guys for all the help. I emailed the chap from Ebay who has been able to do the pull-up one with a non reflective screen on it for a very good price. That should be perfect for what I want

Thanks again
