Hitachi PJ TX-100 display problem

Hello all,
My concern is an uneven display. My tx100 (900 hrs) is quite blue on the left side of the screen. It started in the lower left with some streaking of blue on an otherwise normal image. I had to replace the lamp at 750 hrs because of decreased brightness and a green overlying hue. The new lamp solved this but the blue then appeared. Any constructive comments would be appreciated.

This may be the polariser, if u do a search on blue polariser it may give u some ideas, but if it's out of warranty, i fear it will cost you a fair bit to replace (but not as expensive as replacing the optics!).
Some say it is due to overheating

I had some blue discoloration patches on my Epson tw10h, but was able to get it replaced under its 3 yr swap out warranty thankfully.

It seems to be a 'feature' of quite a few projectors, i defo remember reading about Sanyo/Panasonic projectors having similar issues.

Re: Hitachi PJ TX-100 display problem

I'm now experiencing the same blue tint on part of the screen. I'm at 720 hrs (about 4-5 hours/week for 4 years). Anyone ever find out for sure if it's the polarizers? And if so, roughly what would I expect to pay to fix? And is it possible to order the part and replace myself?

I found one other post on this issue from June 2006, but no one every posted a resolution:

Is my Hitachi TX100 damaged after 3000hrs?
