Re: DLP 3 chip convergance

I don't know if any manufacturer can guarantee this, but I believe Sim2s is less than a pixel (Hopefully Alan Roser will reply with a definitive answer though). The ones I've seen (with a test pattern) were all less than half a pixel IIRC.

Re: DLP 3 chip convergence

The recent 3 chips i have seen have been 1/2 to full pixel out varying across the image, this was on the expensive projection design unit.

Re: DLP 3 chip convergence

I have seen the 777, C3X and C3X lite quite a few times and the most they are out by, is half a pixel normally. But this 'normal' amount of MC with 720p resolution means that it is far more noticeable than on a 1080p projector. For example, the HD1 with half pixel MC it noticeably sharper than a 720p 3 chip DLP.

Alan's probably busy getting ready for the Bristol Show but IIRC the spec is half a pixel at the centre and three quarters at the edge of image.

Which ProjectionDesign are you referring too? I thought even the big ones
used a single DLP chip but with two lamps and 2 colour wheels.
