AE900 Problems

Any ideas?

My AE900 has developed a problem, it is starting up running with the green light on for about 1 minute, then shuts down. It then restarts.

When firing up it click a couple of times and it appear to be displaying a picture, although nothing makes it the screen, you can see it looking at an angle into the PJ, then it shuts down. Then it restarts the whole process again.

There are no warning lights coming on, it's only done about 150hrs always fed through a Belkin UPS/power surge protector.

I got it from Pixmania and they are pointing me to Panasonic France for support.

Re: AE900 Problems

I used to have this PJ mate. Sounds like the same as what happened to mine.
Don't panic!

Take the dust filter off the side very carefully and hover the dust out. then replace it. Apparently your supposed to do this every 100hrs.

See if it helps, that what mine was

Thanks Journeyman, that seemed to work.

Very strange though.

Re: AE900 Problems

I know - says to do it in the manual though - probably just a safety device to stop it over heating

Re: AE900 Problems

Yeah, I didn't realise I had done so many hours so quickly. My last PJ was cleaned every 100 without fail.

I would have thought this type of restarting would do more harm than good.
