My tx300 displayed in colour from component out of the box without any need for settings adjustment. Are you sure the source is ok, have you tried it with anything else?

Re: Hitachi PJ-TX300 LCD Projector URGENT HELP

But have you tried them with anything else that accepts component input to check they work ok through the lead you're using etc in colour?
Does sound like the projector but just to rule that out thats all.

Re: Hitachi PJ-TX300 LCD Projector URGENT HELP

How did you use your dvd player the TX-300?

Did you use Scart to connect it to your display device, or have you always used component cables?

If this is the first time using component, I'd check the dvd player's settings.

Re: Hitachi PJ-TX300 LCD Projector URGENT HELP

I tried mine on component yesterday from x360 and a/v amp, worked fine with no messing. It sounds to me like a faulty source or a faulty cable, unless of course it's the projector itself but unlikely imo.

Re: Hitachi PJ-TX300 LCD Projector URGENT HELP

Hi Sach,

You say your trying it on component, but they say you have tried it with a PS2, are you using a composite lead (Red/White/Yellow Plugs) from the PS2??

If you are, the yellow plug only needs to go into the composite port.
When i use a PS2 on mine, or an older DVD player, i have to use composite, but for new Xbox 360 i use the component plugs (Red/Blue/Green Plugs)

Any help?

Thanks

Matt

i did use the scart for it, this is the first time that i'm using component cables. Ill check out the settings on the DVD player and see if that will solve it. DVD player works fine when using S Video.

If you using the Red/White/Yellow plugs, that a composite output from the PS2. Basically, the tv signal is in the yellow plug, and the stereo sound is int he red and white plugs. So to get a working output from a PS2 you need to plug your yellow plug into the yellow 'Video' plug on the projector. Then select the the input to 'Video'.
For sound plug the red and white plugs into your reciever.

If your dvd player also has red/white/yellow plugs the same setup is needed.

If you have a component emitting source, you will have three outputs from the source, red, green and blue, and these plug into the three component inputs of the projector, and then set the projector input to 'component'

Hope that helps

Matt

Re: Hitachi PJ-TX300 LCD Projector URGENT HELP

Sach117

I'm sure the "problem" is at the dvd player...and it's not a problem as such, so don't worry.

I helped my dad set up his projector the other day, and we hit the same stumbling block. SVHS cable produced a colour image, but component (the one with the red, blue, and green plugs) was coming out in black and white.

I went into his dvd setup menu, and tried the different picture options one at a time. I think the one called RGB Out (or something like that) worked - hey presto, a lovely colour image.

For your PS2, as StreetDragster says, all you need to plug into your projector is the yellow composite plug (it goes into the yellow socket marked video), and then select "video" on the TX300's remote to view the action.

The red and white plugs carry the sound from your PS2, and they need to go into your amp.

Let us know how you get on - us TX300 users gotta stick together!!
