Re: projector on pc advice

hi
not sure I understand your issue

If when you show the desktop on your pc, it looks fine, but when you play movies, they seem dim.
Perhaps you need to see if there is a way to change the brightness/contrast of the video overlay settings. On my nvidia card, there are separate settings for desktop and video material.

Re: projector on pc advice

Which program/player do u use to see the movies (windvd, zoom player)? Have you also set the proper resolution and frequency for your pc desktop?(you go to the ATI Catalyst control center and enable the same resolution like the one of your projector p.e 1280X720 on 50 Hz)

Re: projector on pc advice

maybe you need different settings on your projector for watching video, like turning up the gamma or disabling the iris, etc.

Re: projector on pc advice

It sounds like an overlay problem as it only happens on video (which uses overlay). Find the graphic card overlay settings and tune the gamma / brightness.

Re: projector on pc advice

To see if its an overlay issue try this

1. Open Media Player. On the Tools menu, click Options. This will open the Options dialog box.
2. In the Options dialog box, click the Performance tab.
3. In the Video acceleration area, click the Advanced button.
4. In the Video Acceleration Settings dialog box, clear the check box for Use Overlays. (Its on video and DVD so play around)
5. Select OK and then OK again to close the dialog box.
6. Playback the video.

Here is a guide by ATI on how to setup HDTV using your drivers (there is mention here about setting brightness)
http://ati.amd.com/products/catalyst...etup_Guide.pdf

Also check out ATI Tray Tools which has access to the theatre mode overlay
http://www.guru3d.com/article/atitraytools/189/

There are some good FAQ Tech docs at
http://support.ati.com/ics/support/d...asp?deptID=894

You can also submit a ticket there to log your problem

Cheers
