Unhappy Epson TW10H with blue stains ~ advice required

Hi

I've had a Epson TW10H since Oct 2004 , i've been pleased with its performance in general, but it has developed 'blue patches' on bits of the screen image. (It has clocked up about 900hrs in economy mode)
U can see it clearly on white backgrounds, & on skin tones.

It is not visible on a black background, however much i focus/defocus ~ it does have lots of dust blobs as well (but that is for another time), & the odd dead pixel!

Do u think it is a polariser problem?, & will it get worse, stay the same, or improve after a clean??

Anyone had the same happen to them?

The projector has a 3 yr 'swap out' warranty ~ I have looked after it carefully by cleaning the filter regularly, & adhering to a strict switch off policy, waiting for the fan to stop before powering off.

If i contact Epson, i'm worried that they'll give me something that hasn't been as looked after, & may fail sooner, rather than later, & may have more dead pixels, other issues etc.

I can hear u all screaming 'upgrade' ~ but my wife has other plans ~ our 2nd child is due in May '07, so that's on the back burner, unless i get a super deal

Any comments on my projector predicament (wife / baby aside!) appreciated

Cheers
