HD70 vs Wii Virtual console

Hi
I have the Wii (amazing) plugged into the HD70 (sweet) via the Sony STR-DA1200ES (quality)

Firstly using composite and now using component.

All works great until I try and play a video game classic (sonic/Mario) using the wii's virtual console. The game loads then the projector goes blue, if I press the wii's home button it comes back on screen with the wii menu overlaying the game, but when I dismiss the menu about 2 seconds later it goes blue again. I am guessing the virtual console uses a resolution/something or other the HD70 doesn't work with? Has anyone else been able to get it working?

I found this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual...AL_Wii_systems
A bit over my head but does it make sense to anyone? Does it explain my blue screen?

BTW, component cable for the wii makes it look sooooo much better @ 92"

Re: HD70 vs Wii Virtual console

Well I maybe wrong but a few chaps over at neogaf said that the wii outputs all games inc emulation at 480i or p thru component and that to play the emulators at their native rez ie pc engine 256x224 I think?.. u have to use composite s-video or rgb scart?

Anyhow from what you are saying it must be outputting a lower 15khz resolution as it would perfectly explain the undetected signal.
