fuzzy second outline

hey all, i recently bought myself a benQ w100 dlp projector as a start into the world of home cinema.

i have begun to notice however, that there is a fuzzy black outline around dark peices on a white background, i.e, a sihouette of a man against a bright sky.

does anyone know whats causing this and how to prevent it ?

so far ive tried using ofc cable throughout and it has faded, but its still there.

the source is a bush dvd player so its not of particular quality (cost me £30 in a tesco sale )

any help is greatly appreciated, aid

Re: fuzzy second outline

Sounds like haloing, to see if this is DVD artifacts in the source signal try lowering the sharpness and see if it diminishes.

The other type of problem could be Ghosting which is usualy down to a poor cable.

Re: fuzzy second outline

It sounds like haloing to me as well. It is usually down to the DVD being played. Low bitrate or excessive edge enhancement can cause it. Is it on all DVD's.
