All,

Was wondering if anyone out there might be able to shed some light on this one!!

I have a Panasonic PT-AE900 LCD projector hooked up via the Microsoft component cable to my Xbox 360, which until recently worked perfectly and looked great. I am running in 720p.

I just started to notice that the colours have started to go a bit red/pink but not all the time. When i first power on the 360 and projector all seems fine but after ten minutes or so you can see a saturation of red particularly in what should be white or grey areas (such as the 360 gamer profile display). The yellows in the 360 dashboard look more orange as do the Panasonic's menu items.

I hav'nt changed any settings so this seems very strange.

I can get the colours to look normal (ish) again by changing the picture settings in the projectors set-up to Dynamic and altering the Colour Temp setting, but I've never had to do this before so am more than a little confused! I cant work out whether this is the Xbox or the projector, and as i mentioned it does appear to be intermittent but getting more prevalent.

Any help, ideas, suggestions, comments or info any of you lovely people out there might have would be greatly appreciated.

Check the component cables, make sure there in securely at both ends. Also you might want to try fiddling with the video connector a bit at the back of the 360. I have the same setup as you and I noticed on more then one occasion that while the connector was in securely, moving the cable around caused one of the color signals (red i think) to drop out, as if it was loose.

Have any other component or other sources you could try out on the projector?

Thanks, i will try a few things out. The strange thing is when you first power up the projector and the xbox the problem does not occur it seems to come in gradually and then it can also disapear...!

I have not noticed the issue with my dvd player which is hooked up to the projector via HDMI so it may well be a component issue. I will try hooking the xbox via scart to make sure its to the console, and then see if i can try a different component cable.

I am right in thinking this couldnt be the bulb on the projector on the way out or anything arent i?

Well if the Panasonics colours are also wrong then it is clearly the projector

whats your lamp runtime? Mines past 1800 with no issues.

Lamp runtime is about 600 so should be fine. Strangely i actually cleaned the air filter last night and the problem did not reoccur for the 2 hours i used it last night....not sure whether this is connected or not!!
