"SONY VW11HT owners CABLE CHOICE"

Hi there

I have looked at some old posts and I’m a bit confused.

I would like to run my cables directly to the projector, 5-6 metres.

Out of the skybox for RGB (scart). I would like some good quality cables, I have read some post that people were getting cross-hatching and thing like that; obviously I would want to avoid this.

As the cost of cables can be quite high I want to get it right

Also the same for the component video cables.

Are you running the cables separate and are the special connections?

What quality are you people getting from RGB into the vw11ht, could you also advise on makes, and the connections that you are using

Thanks for all your previous help

Darren

Well I've got a VW10HT, so it almost counts, and I've found for component and s-video that Lektropaks pro series seems pretty good, compared 10M lenghts of each with some hiqh quality shorter stuff like Monster and chord, with naff all difference. The component cables code is PAL4 if your interested.

I confirm the above.

Yep 3 for component, i didn't bother with RGB, but if your going for RGB you'll probably need 4, I vaguely remember someone on the board having to use a composite output as a sync for RGB (might be wrong though).

If you going to be using a computer input at anytime you'll probably want to put 5 in for RGB and separate H and V synch's (at least that's what I think they're for).

Does that make sense ? Someone will probably correct me if I'm wrong about any of the above.

I use a Lektropacks 10m 3xRCA > 3xRCA cable for component which cost about £75. It is well constructed and performs flawlessly. IMHO there is no point, other than psychological satisfaction, in spending more.
