Does the optoma HD70 come with 3 year hot swap warranty. If so why are dixons offering a 3 year cover plan costing £199

3 year hot swap warranty comes free with the projector but not many people know that. So they are trying to sell something unnecessary to consumers in order to gain some extra profit.

Plus isn’t it easier to go to a local dixons if the projector develops a problem as opposed to a independent supplier that might be 50 + miles away
Also isn’t it mandatory for the supplier to deal with a problem if it develops a fault in the first year?
As for the stock I can’t see why it would be anything other then UK. I am going into town tomorrow will pop into dixons ask.
If you were to get the HD70 would you buy it from Dixons @ that price or an independent supplier?

there is no problem sorting out any problems with regards to the pj. you can just call optoma direct. they will arrange pickup of the unit and loan you a pj while yours is being fix. got mine sorted that way. so it is not that difficult dealing with optoma.

I thought the standard warranty was only 2 years though, not 3.

No high street shops at all now, they are only an internet service and we all know what Dixons after sales service is like on the web

do you think its worth sepnding the extra £245 on this over the benq w100. I will be using a PJ for primarily playing my xbox 360 and DVD`s. I have read around but still cant decide.
The setup will be in the bedroom and thus space is pretty limited!
Many Thanks

Ive attached a pics found on projectorreviews.com from 5th element. One W100, one HD70, you can probably guess which is which.

I would imagine that the HD70 is not calibrated very well as there is quite a bit of detail missing on the left side of the image.
