Remote Dimmers interferring with DLP Projector

Hi There,

A weird one here,

tonight and at the moment I have my projector on and when the lights are off all is fine and the projector works perfectly, but when I try to have dim the room, 2 rolling lines occur along the image.

Anyone ever had this problem and know how to rectify it?

Re: Remote Dimmers interferring with DLP Projector

My guess is the loading on the dimmer has induced an interference on the signal feeding your projector. I'm assuming you're running over analogue (composite, component or svideo) ?

If possible, try moving the your video cable around and see if it has an impact. Of course, this may not be feasible.

Edit: do you get the same rolling lines with both NTSC and PAL DVDs ? Worth a try

Re: Remote Dimmers interferring with DLP Projector

Thanks for the reply,

Yes I running it through component. I have tried fiddling with the connections to see if that was the reason and it doesn't seem to be the problem.

I have just realised that the problem is probably because Im using a spare button on the projector remote in order to control the dimmer. I will try a different remote on the dimmers later and see if it rectify's the problem....(I hope)
