Component or S video for sky

Setting up home cinema. Need advice regarding sky tv. I currently have skys standard digibox. My AV receiver does not do component switching. Do i convert the skys RGB to component and then through a component switching unit (to incorporate the DVD), or do i get a sky plus unit and use the s-video out direct to the projector and take the component from the dvd direct to the projector therefore using no convertor or switching unit? I appreciate this would meen using the composite input for the game consoles, though my main use would be sky and dvd.

Any thoughts on which is likely to produce the better picture quality for both sky and the dvd. Appart from the benefit of having a sky plus unit for the cinema.

thanks
andy

Re: Component or S video for sky

I have just purchased the QED RGB Scart to Component converter for my projector as I found myself wanting more with S Video. I haven’t had the chance to connect it up yet as I’m still waiting for a few cables, but Component IMO always looks significantly better.
