Re: good deal? - infocus 7205

As a proud 7205 owner and someone who has seen and reviewed plenty of projectors, I can confidently say that the Screenplay 7205 is still one of the most impressive projectors around. At £1100 it is an absolute giveaway!!

You'll not be disappointed.

i used a 3910 via a QED HDMI cable (10m) to my 7205 and it was a lovely picture.......however i had a small accident and the HDMI cable got knackered...lol..so i now use a wireworld component cable (i had that at the same time as my 3803 amp doesnt have HDMI) as i cant really afford to pick up a HDMI cable....heh....the good news is the component connection actually looks as good, on some films better, some films worse, but not by a staggering degree....

only downside is some occasional macroblocking......thats the 3910's fault i believe mostly.....but only on poor transfers....on good films like LOTR, Star Wars etc its rock solid!

Re: good deal? - infocus 7205

I mainly use a 15m HDMI to M1-DA I bought off a trader on eBay for £54 and it is faultless. I use this with Sky HD and for DVD I use component. To be honest, once you've gotten used to HD, DVD always looks a little ropey but I would think HDMI would give the best image especially over longer lengths. I find component looks a little softer and as Knight Byte mentioned, you tend to see more macroblocking in the image.
Cannot comment on the screen but the 7205 does produce very good blacks and with an all glass Carl Zeiss lens, very sharp images.

Try asking AV Nik, a member on here who posts regularly in the projection screens forum. he sells screens and knows a thing or two about them!
