Last weekend (after a month of search through this forum and internet generally) I purchased 2nd hand the Sharp XV-Z201 from a guy at AV forums.
The reviews were excellent, the price as well and the whole package

So in the end I had the PJ, a 10m Vandame component cable, a 10m HDMI-DVI cable, ceiling mount,a Beamax 180cm(width) screen and finally an old but functional (I think) Pioneer DV-575A-S
link for the pioneer

Ok enough about the purchase lets see the problem.... I connected everything Sunday night and although I tried a lot of different settings I must say that I am a biy dissapointed!
The progressive image through Pioneer and the component cables is soft, blurry when the camera moves fast, the detail is not even close to the pics posted here (you can see rough pixel structure in the outline of the objects, noise in some colors and the black is deep grey).
The colours are very good, better than my previous X1 projector and the resolution indeed is better! The concern is about the deinterlacing.... it suffers i think from all the problems mentioned from a bad progressive signal.
And before you ask I have everything to the original configuration (Pioneer) and just a quick calibration with Star Wars THX utility for the projector. Again i must stretch that my concern is not the colour but the quality of the image.
Now i am thinking is the player or the cable? Unfortunately I dont have a second progressive DVD player or something like a new DVI or HDMI output capable one.... Shall i go and pick one from Currys or Comet to test the PQ and returned it back or just go ahead and order the Sony DVD player( which everyone is talking about) online?

Any help would be highly appreciated!
Thanks
George
