"OLDSKOOL" - Panny PTAE 100!!

I have this projector and was thinking of upgrading until I looked at the reviews on the HCC website -

http://www.homecinemachoice.com/revi...cPT-AE100E.php

which state that the projector is capable of receiving 720p/1080i signals - HURAH! But - is this really true for such an "old" design..?

Re: "OLDSKOOL" - Panny PTAE 100!!

Assuming that a hd device will send the signal over component then the pj will receive the signal and downscale to the pjs native resolution.

Re: "OLDSKOOL" - Panny PTAE 100!!

Indeed, the ae100 will "accept" a hidef signal, but will not display it in it's full resolution since the panel is only 480 line type. Therefore, the internal scaler will downscale the signal to 480 lines. Gotta be honest, not really worth the expense of a hidef source without a replacement projector or other hidef capable display.
