Sanyo Z4 And Sony Dvp-ns76h

Anyone using the Sony DVP-NS76H with a Sanyo Z4. Are there any problems with this set up, for example up scaling etc. Thanks for any help Tony.

Re: Sanyo Z4 And Sony Dvp-ns76h

Yep I do and the results are incredible via HDMI - but at first they were truly awful and i nearly freaked out!!...

There is ONE thing you need to setup correctly to get it to work otherwise it will artifact, macro block and be a bit shimmery around the edges of moving images ( anti-aliasing?)...

This is in the sony settings menu there is a setting for TV type. Set it at 4:3 NOT Widescreen - yes I know the Sanyo has 16:9 panels and this seems odd because when you turn on the projector and the DVD the 'sony blue swirl' DVD menu will be projected as a 4:3 image in the centre but as soon as you play a DVD it will instantly and automatically resize into full widescreen using the entire panel and there will be ZERO artifacting, no mpeg blocking on smoke or anything nasty that would annoy you and all the shimmering will go leaving you with a perfect picture quality that is stunning....it even makes the PC DVD s/w on my dell via DVI look poor in comparison - it should be THAT good..

Without the 4:3 set like that it will produce wierd artifacts and be unwatchable.

There is nothing you need to set on the Z4.... It rocks!!

strange but there you have it...
