Question Ceeling mount for Panasonic AX100

Hi

I'm looking to ceeling mount my new Panasonic AX-100. Can anyone recommend a good bracket for this? I found this one on eBay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/UNIVERSAL-PROJ...em220045117989 Would you go with this?

Thanks!

Re: Ceeling mount for Panasonic AX100

As a matter of principle I would not buy the one from ebay as the postage is way over priced. Leaving that to one side the one from avprojector-lamps looks a much better buy. They also get a lot of good feedback so you can trust them.

Re: Ceeling mount for Panasonic AX100

I too am on the look out for a ceiling mount for a Panasonic Ax100. The one highlighted by the original poster looks like a good one. Its also £11 cheaper than the mount sold at projector lamps.

One thing that worries me is whether or not the one on ebay will fit the Panny, as this is a larger than average projector and if you look at the mount, the holes through which the screws attach to the projector look like they cannot adjusted. The projector sold at projector lamps looks to be more adjustable with respect to the mounting holes of the projector.

I just emailed the seller to ask him if this mount will work with the panasonic. He said it will not fit.

Bugger

The bracket screw positions seem to be a bit weird (well of centre). There's 3 screws on the right side and 1 on the left (see the attached photo).

The universal mount for sale on avprojectorlamps seems to be the same as the one on eBay. I reckon this wouldn't fit either

Can anyone recommend a ceeling mount for an AX100?

Thanks!

There's a 4 arm mount on eBay from the same German sellers of the screen that everyone is raving about (I bought one last week and was very happy with the product and delivery). I've sent them on an email (along with the photo) to see if the mount will fit the AX100.

Hopefully...

Re: Ceeling mount for Panasonic AX100

Has anyone successfully mounted their Panny ax100 and if so can they recommend a ceiling mount that fits? Due to its larger size I feel that the new AX100 doesnt seem to work with many "universal" ceiling mounts.

Let us know when you hear from them. I ordered a screen last night from them, so lets see how long it takes to arrive.

Re: Ceeling mount for Panasonic AX100

lump of wood?

I'm rubbish at DIY, but made one for my AE100, and that fit the AE900 handily. Really quite simple.

One largish piece of wood for the ceiling bit - big enough to screw into the joists in a couple of places.

Then a dangly bit adjusted to the height you need. I used a piece of 2"x2" wood.

then the bottom bit that attaches to the projector. I cut a bit of 12mm(I think) wood to the size of the projector, then marked where the holes were and drilled 4mm holes. then screwed into the dangly bit with a big screw.

Then just mounted to the baseplate using M4 screws. I used a couple of nuts near the PJ to stop the screws going too far in, and another couple above the baseplate which lets you raise/lower it to adjust for height/tilt a little.

works fine.

Cheers Richard. There's a couple of DIY options in the sticky posts - I may well end up taking that route!!

Exclusiv-Home got back to me and asked for the distance between two of the holes on the projector (see attachment). I'm in work and my projector is at home. Can someone else please give me this info?

Thanks!

Re: Ceeling mount for Panasonic AX100

Problem with the DIY route is that it may not suit the decor of the room. If your room has wood floors you could probably get away with this method. However, my room will be having carpeted floors, black furniture, with lots of silver/chrome furnishings in it. It therefore makes sense to have a silver/chrome/metallic projector mount.

Its a good idea though.

The AX100 is 395mm wide, the width in your image is 125mm, giving a scale factor of 3.16, so the distance between those two holes looks like it is 268.6mm approx. I see no reason why a universal mount will not fit the AX100.

OK, the said that the mount will fit and I went ahead and ordered one. I'll post here as soon as it arrives and I get it fitted.

One thing though, they did try to screw me on postage because I'm in Ireland. On the eBay page, it says that delivery cost to all European countries in £7.90 (and if you select Ireland, it remains at this). Had to send loads or arguementative emails You guys shouldn't have this problem with them.

Does that fit the panny ax100?
Just checked the pricing on it and its a tad pricey. £145 for the 80cm model.

You should be able to get the 4010 for less than that. I saw it on the net for 85.
Typically I have found the cheap generic brand types bought off ebay are made of very poor quality materials, look goddam ugly and are prone to detaching from the projector/ ceiling.

Also when adding extension pieces they are very prone to vibration. I would rather have less extension and use the lens shift adjustment if the projector is capable(as the Panny is).

It is false economy to go cheap on an essential support for a piece of expensive precision equipment.

Re: Ceeling mount for Panasonic AX100

http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=24070
£71

Ive currently suspended the projector using wires and it is sitting about 20 cm below the ceiling. I already am using the lens shift feature and have it set all the way down, however, it still isnt low enough. Ideally I need a full 80cm extension.

EDIT: http://uk.insight.com/apps/productpr..._id=VOMGPC4010
£52
