Ice storm Question - More info Required

I am from Australia and unfortunately Dulux Australia don't have the Ice storm range and if they do, then it goes under a different name.

The following is the only info I have on it so far:
Ice storm 6 = 12632
Ice storm 5 = 12630
Ice Storm 4 = 12628
Ice Storm 3 = 12626
Ice Storm 2 = 12624
Ice Storm 1 = 12621

Can someone tell me a little more about what the paint is supposed to be for. For example is it a base coat or what? I assume there must be a brochure for it or something.

Can someone scan it or provide a little more info on it.

Thanks Again
Amelia

How do I find the Ice Storm range? What section would it be in the Dulux site?

Thanks

I think you'll find it's a matt emulsion - not a base coat or anything else, so designed to go on walls etc. HTH - I'm amazed that the colour codes don't help!

You're amazed . . how do you think I feel ?

I couldn't believe Dulux Technical support couldn't help either

In any case I will try again later this week.

Thanks Richard

Only other thing I can suggest is that someone mails you a painted swatch, and you get your Dulux bod to colour match - I'd offer, but don't have any of the aforementioned paint to create the swatch - give it a week or two and I may have...

Hi Richard,

Its been such a pain. I can understand local paint retailers possibly not know or being able to help, but dulux themselves?

I have tried to find some downloadable info, but no luck so far.

Best Regards

I wouldn`t rtust the online colour thingy, when I looked at the colours they were different than on the colour card. (Depends on the monitor setup).

If you are really stuck then I have a spare colour card I can mail to you, so email me if you need it.

OK, I just tried Icestorm 5 and the blacks were awesome, however I whites were effected. I also tried Icestorm 6 which is too light. I am going to go for something in between.

I can't believe what a difference it made !!!

Thanks to All

Best Regards

Are you using a filter?, you might find that a filter and ICESTORM 6 is the best combination. I think someone mentioned that they mixed ICESTORM 5 & 6 together to get the best result. I think if you can modifiy the gain for r/g/b on your projector you will get a much better picture too

jrwood,
Do you have any idea what filter I am supposed to use and can you pick one up at a Photography Shop?

Best Regards

Some people use CC30R or CC40R and some use the HOYA HMC FL-D filter like me. I personally think it makes blacks far better and if you adjust the bias/gain in the service menu in-conjunction with ICESTORM6 you get whites and very deep blacks. Like I said before Ive borrowed DLP's from work and their black level is far far worse than my LCD projector and I dont suffer bad whites (which I used to when I had ICESTORM 5) paint.
