Just checked the price of the panasonic AE1000.Expected to be around 2200 so it's a bit too expensive for me.

Get the AX-100 instead. Got mine for £999 delivered . Truly blown away and I upgraded from an AE700

See gandley's post for a great review!

Re: My head hurts.Which projector TX300 . Z5 . HS60 .

From reading peoples opinions who have the HS60...it works best in a light controlled room. whereas the Panny Ax can be used in a room with some light.

The HS60 is older than the other models you mention too.

I would look at the Panny AX personally. Sounds an impresive all rounder to me.

EDIT: The actual best solution for you is to demo the units at one of the retailers like Discount TV. You might find you prefer one picture over another for different reasons.

Re: My head hurts.Which projector TX300 . Z5 . HS60 .

The TX300 appears to be last years model with a paint job. The AX100 is a light year ahead in performance and almost the same price. I was told that if I bought a TX200 and did not see a AX100 I would not miss the improvements. But I would always know I did not buy the best I could afford.

Yes the TX300 looks good, but in a black room do you care.

Probably go for the ax100 as the extra light output is a geat bonus.

Re: My head hurts.Which projector TX300 . Z5 . HS60 .

well I think both will suit your needs fine...

If you can get em one next to the other then DO it and decide... the choice is personal. If you cannot do it, both will be amazing for you, but NEVER get them close if you have the chance... what if you prove wrong? hehe...

every decent projector is fabulous since it plays alone at home...

I am not sure if i would go for the newest models... but if you can afford it... why not have the latest specs...

Re: My head hurts.Which projector TX300 . Z5 . HS60 .

I personally have decided to go with a Z5 instead of the ax100 (waiting for stock at the moment).

The review on Projector Central comparing the Z5 with the ax100 basically said that the Z5 has the slightly better image, the ax100 is brighter (personally I suspect there isn't a lot between them image-wise, and I don't need the extra brightness). The Z5 has better connectivity with 2 HDMI and 2 component inputs (although most people will use some form of video switching to avoid running too many cables).

The z5 does cost a little bit more than the ax100, but has a three year warranty and the UK-supplied ones come with a free lamp voucher. This combined with Panasonic's reputation for poor service on projectors is really what made me choose the Z5.

When my Z5 arrives I will post some comments on how I get on.

Maybe because it's basically a TX200 with a new paint job. The performance of the TX300 and TX200 are the same.

Yeah but it looks great! For me the free screen that i got with the tx300 helped a lot too. I'm no expert but i'm well chuffed with mine and everyone that's seen it says how great it looks. In fact 2 of them have decided to get them themselves now.

Me too - I ordered mine a couple of days ago for almost exactly the same reasons.

It's probably just a coincidence we have the same surname

Agree with Anim, once discounttv receives the Z5, they will stock all 4 major lcd pj's.
