clueless!

Sorry I haven't got clue about projectors, have a couple of questions:

How much do replacement lamps cost? (Does the price vary for each projector?)

What's the minimumn distance you need between the projector and the screen? (Again does this vary for each projector?)

Cheers.

Dfferent lamps in different projectors cost different amounts of money..in fact it wouldn't surprise me to find that the same lamp in different projectors costs different amounts of money...

How long they last depends on how you use the projector and how the device works. Ie some manufacturers say it'll be 1000hr changes then 6000hrs from the next. If you turn it on and leave a unit working for 4hrs it'll have less stress on the lamp than turning it on and off several times in 4hrs...

Hope this is a little use.

Some actual numbers may be of help.... a typical bulb might last 2000 hours, and typically, cost £250 As to distances, and from there directly to image size, check out http://www.projectorcentral.com/ It's a yank site, but much info especially projector specs, and distance/size calculator, and price quotes. They seem to translate well into pounds, in real terms we pay roughly the same, that is after you've beaten up the dealer with 3 other quotes of course.
