Normal Artifact?

I have been demoing an Infocus IN76 at home prior to buying. Overall I'm very impressed but I notice on the projected image there is a circular whitish area (? like a lens iris type reflection)particularly noticeable on dark or gray backgrounds. Its quite noticeable to the right side of the screen and I'm wondering if this is a characteristic of DLP/single lens projectors or maybe just a problem with this unit sample. Its on all source settings. I'm looking to replace my CRT projector and this is my first experience with DLP technology.
Thanks
