Budget short throw projector recommendations

Guys,

I'm looking to get a projector that needs to be sited at floor level, or maximum 30cm to the top of the projector, at about 1.8mtrs away from the screen. I'm looking at those cheap electric screens on ebay, and the smallest they do is 1.6mtrs across, which is 75" diagonally. The bottom of the screen will be 1mtr from the floor.

I think the Epson TW20 fits the bill, as it is has a very short throw, and lens shift to account for the low position, but I would have like to try a DLP, as I had a Sanyo Z1 years ago and couldn't live with the poor blacks.

Any ideas anyone?

I don't know of any budget DLP projectors that will give you a 75 inch diagonal image from just 1.8m.

You could try bouncing one of a mirrow or maybe fitting a camera widescreen adaptor although that might degrade the picture somewhat.

Thanks, I don't think I will find one, but someone might come up with something. I can't use the mirror option unfortunately.

Re: Budget short throw projector recommendations

Just thought I'd update this, I picked up an Epson TW20 from ebay for £300, perfect condition, no dead pixels, 46hrs on the clock.

Also, my previous projector was an old Sanyo PLV30 not a Z1, and what a difference the Epson is! Blacks are black, and with a 75" screen there is no screen door whatsoever.

:D
