Need a Sanyo remote

Hello chaps,
It's a real long shot, but I need to know if anyone has any ideas. I bought a Sanyo projector 2nd hand and unfortunately didn't get the remote with it.

Since I have it hanging from the ceiling, it's annoying to have to operate it standing on my bed, and because it's hanging from steel wires rather than a normal ceiling mount, pressing buttons sometimes knocks it slightly out of alignment and makes it swing a little bit, so a remote would be nice.

Unfortunately, it seems remotes for Sanyo projectors are like gold dust. I found one online supplier for them, who wanted £140 just for a remote!! Ebay was no better, I have only ever seen one remote on there that is compatible with my model and it went for £50.

The projector model is PLC-SU51, its an SVGA 2000lumens Pro-X jobbie.

Anyone got any ideas as to other remotes that are compatible or sites that sell em fairly cheap?

TIA

I found two on ebay, one of which claims it works with ALL PLC- projectors. Only at 99p with one day to go. See: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sanyo-CXSB-Pro...QQcmdZViewItem

The second claims it works with most Sanyo projectors and this too is at just 99p. See: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SANYO-remote-C...QQcmdZViewItem

The other option is to borrow one from a fellow member and 'learn' the functions to a universal learning remote, then return the remote.
Hope this helps!

Danny

You could buy a cheap learning remote like the harmony 525,it has a huge online database of ir codes http://www.cclonline.com/product-inf...ufacturer_id=0 . I got one for my parents so I can check to see if your pj's codes are available.

That would be great if you could check mate

Oakley, cheers, dont know how I missed the first one. Will watch carefully. I know that the second one is not compatible with my projector.

Added your pj to my dads remote and it seemed to find it ok, I have no way of checking to see if it works but I assume it will as its found some pretty obscure manufacturer codes for his av equipment and they all work fine .

Its a farily decent remote as well , the main benefit for the olds is that it works on an activity basis so you just press a button to watch sky or a button to watch a dvd, remote then issues all the commands to change tv channel, turn on dvd, switch amp to right channel etc and finally switches to the page with dvd controls, if it somehow misses a command and something hasnt turned on you just press the help button and it goes through a series of questions such as , is the tv on , is the dvd on and reissues the commands based on your answers. works flawlessly for them and I've not even had to show them how to use it .
