Ceiling Mount for HD72i

Can anyone recommend a good ceiling mount for the HD72i? I have a mount at the moment - and its based around a ball joint. However I'm finding it hard to set the projector up as it keeps moving slightly!

First because of the ball joint it moves by all angles - so the picture is now currently tilting slightly on the screen. Secondly the fitting on the projector mean that the mounting is not over the C/G of the unit - so its always trying to move. Not a good design!

Anyone got any recommendations? Thanks.

I also had this problem - I thought the ball joint would take the one sided weight of the 72i for easy adjustment! I tightened mine and I can still adjust but there seems to be a bit of play in the joint so its trial and error.. now I have it straight it doesn't move :-)

Of course I've tightend it! But it still has moved a little. I just dont like the design and was hoping there was a better mount more suited to this model.

I've been using this bracket for all my projectors so far, and a friend of mine is using it for his HD72i:

It has alimitation of only two planes of adjustment, and I found that the best way to use it for left/right rotation and to get the pj aligned with the screen. If you need to have the pj point up or down to be level, I used some shims under the back (or front) of the ceiling part of the bracket. It has a quick release wingnut bolt so the pj can be quickly and easily removed if necessary.

Here are some pics of my HT1000 and then H78 using it:

There was a thread some time ago where it was shown that you can use a part from the other bracket (there are two in the box) which will allow adjustment in all planes, so you won't need to shim it like I have:

Another cheap DIY Projector ceiling mount
