HD72i Install & Screen...

As every body seems to be posting pictures of there new projectors i thought i would too...not as great as some of them but it will do...

I did not think that a projector would work too well in my room as you can see there is alot of light but the Themescene certainly does

Nice job buddy!

Looks great with the TV on the wall with the screen coming down in front. I was looking to do the same but couldn't find anything that I liked to stick my front speaker on. I was quoted over £200 for a centre speaker stand - sod that!

Anyway looks really good mate.

Looks good mate.

Out of interest, how do you get the signal from your sources to both the pj and plasma?

Very well done , what PJ mount did you use?
Always thought the HD72i had to be mounted very close to the screen because of the offset, how far is yours?

Qestions, questions....

I do not know what make the mount is but it came with the projector...the distance is approx 12ft and fills the screen nicely..

Nice setup you have there mate. I'd love a set of those M&K's. I presume they're 150's?

Mount looks like an LMP one to me.

I bet it's nice to have a proper big screen to go with your M&K's & DD15's etc.. By the way where are the DD15's? Are they one each side or both together?

Very nice recruit

As you may/may not have noticed, I am looking to get an HD72i with a screen dropping down in front of my plasma.

It looks as though your screen is mounted quite a way out into the room. Can I ask why that is (ie does it have to be that far or was it a choice?).

I ask as I need to get mine as close to the plasma/wall as possible due to a lack of depth in my room.

Thanks
Chez

Thanks Chez Ref to the distance i basically had it measured up as per the distance calculator on the Themescene website and matching the 92" screen size, my room actually looks bigger than it really is and the distance from the projector to the screen is approx 12ft...I am very impressed though with the quality of this projector and it is very quiet when up and running and feeding it HD material looks very good indeed !!

Sorry misread you're original question, the screen comes out a little way from the wall approx 18 inches and drops more or less level with my speakers which makes sense if you know what i mean otherwise i would of had to move the projector further into the room which tbh i did not want to do...

I think just having a big screen makes the sound appear bigger too.

No pricing yet, but this looks promising. Personally I think I'd go for 3 chip 720p over single chip 1080p if I had the choice.

Cheers Rags HD stuff looks superb and i still have to calibrate it, i am going to use AVIA and hopefully it will look even better, i have tried takeing some still shots of some of the Films i am watching but they keep on comeing up blurred in the Pictures which is me not knowing how to take bloody photos or my camera is crap

Footy looks great and so does Wimbledon in HD !

If you look at a thread by spylab he has taken pictures which look really nice and that is with the HD72 !

I would think that there will be alot of choice comeing thru for 1080P projectors now that HD is starting to take off !! can't wait....

So, the screen was placed out from the wallbecause of the distance fromt he PJ, rather than because it needed that much clearance from the wall/plasma?

If so, I should be OK mounting mine so it barely clears the front of the plasma...?? (hopefully!)

Lovely neat setup Recruit

I've got an HD72 , same mount and Bemax 106 " screen but my room is knocked through and I have a fireplace so the plasma is on an angle and the screen drops down next to it. I'd rather have your neat, square setup. But at least i can have both on at once

Dodger - I bought it from Discount tv as per recommendations from this site and have to say very pleased with the deal it is a beamax 92" screen that came with the projector and also mount all for £1499 bargain!!!

Yep Chez more or less the reason i could move it back a little more but i feel the distance is just about right for the size of the screen !
