How do I get a HDMI signal over 12 metres?

Hi can any one help?

I have a denon DVD-1920 which is connected to Infocus IN76. At the moment the dvd player is sitting next to the pj and connected via a 1 metre hdmi cable. The pictures are absolutly great.
I also have a sky + box which is setting on the other side a long room (7m) and that is connected via a set of coax componet video. The pictures are ok.
I am now looking to get Sky HD and also want to move my DVD next to the rest of my kit across the room, which means somehow i need to get a high quality signal over 12 metres (due to routing the cable).
I borrowed a 15m HDMI cable and tried that with my DVD and that just did not work, not a peep.

Any one else tried something similar? help much apperciated - thks

I run a 15m Extra Long Lindy DVI-D cable between Sky/DVD and PJ. I know a few others use this cable on here also. Approx £50

Just put an HDMI/DVI adapter (also from Lindy) at the end you need hdmi

Never had a hint of signal loss. sparklies etc.

Its a very heavy duty cable and an absolute bitch to get around corners inside conduit tho

www.lindy.co.uk

Personally Im going to go component from SKY HD to PJ when it arrives next month. At least until theyve ironed out the HDCP issues. Also component should have less probs at those lengths

12 metres is quite possible if the cable is made well... 15 metres is about the limit without using repeaters AFAIK.

Try k1connectivity

You'll find plenty of debate on that subject if you search the forums. I've tried both from a scaler with good quality leads and couldnt tell the difference in most cases ! HDMI and DVI over 7.5 m are prone to problems anyway, unless you spend bigger money

If your looking for another idea, try an HDMI cat5 extender. Sends up to 1080p 150ft.
