Some HDMI cables are directional. Have you tried swapping ends?

Sadly the cable is buried into the wall now so not an option.

Sorry to hear that as I think it does come down to a cable problem. Can you borrow another one just to check if this is the case?

Right this is really odd. The guy who did my install thought it might be something to do with a 'handshake'? problem with my DVD player as he has had problems like this with high end DVD players himself.

He bought over a Samsung HD850 and it worked perfectly every time???

Anyone heard of this and know if there is a solution?

With my 868 and AE700 I have to make sure that the projector is switched on and ready to go before turning on the 868. If I do it the other way round the AE700 doesn't 'lock' onto the signal for some reason.
