Received my PJ this morning ... unpacked it and tested it on a wall.

Pleased to say only one dead pixel (red) towards the edge of the screen ... hardly noticable! and no dreaded green blobs!!!

Out of the box onto a magnolia wall the picture was stunning.

Still waiting for my ceiling mount but checked the S-video input via a Philips Q50. In awe at the picture quality ... preferred the 'cinema black' setting off ... the blacks were very good. Even cable via a cheap composite connection looked pretty good! I was projecting an 8' wide image from 13' with only slight screen door ... at 7' wide it disappeared.

Once I have set everything up I will post some screen shots.

... a very happy Pip

congrats , you need to have a look around some websites theres tonnes of mods for the Sony , I was thinking of getting one of these as I always like to tweak / fiddle with anything I buy .

I must admit while some projectors do have better contrast than the Sony but you can increase it a lot with the tweaks which are available. However the reason I like Sony is because they portray colours very well compared to a lot of other projectors.

Hi,

Following webpages may help in getting the best out of your projector

http://home.pacbell.net/steve367/
http://home.pacbell.net/steve367/11HTnotes.html

http://www.thebigpicturedvd.com/vw10ht_faq.shtml (some of it may apply to the 11HT?)

http://www.thebigpicturedvd.com/cgi-...um/dcboard.cgi or more specifically

http://www.thebigpicturedvd.com/cgi-...conf=DCConfID1

I believe the 11HT has twice the contrast of the 10HT, what with its excellent colours aswell you may not need to tweak it, but tweaking is fun!

James
