house insurance covering warranty on projector ??

Hi is it possible to buy a projector and get it coverd threw you home insurance incase you had any faults with it ??

read a post or 2 ages a go I think from a guy saying he had his plasma coverd with his house insurance.

Dont no if this is possible but I would want to buy the ScreenPlay SP7205 PJ only problem is totaly out of my Buget. but a refurb of ebay for £1500 seems a possiblity.... As long as there is some way round it with the house insurance .

Couldnt I just pretend to the insurnace company its brand new ??

I dont no I am guessing here.

advice needed !!

Sounds like you're setting yourself up for an accusation of fraud here!!..lol
The refurb ones you mention are covered by a one year warranty (Luzertek in Ireland I believe) so you should be ok. Your Insurance may well offer 'new for old' anyway but I don't think that would cover warranty issues, only damage caused by accidents.
