Interfacing Acer Laptop to Plus U4-237 Projector

As a newbie to this forum I guess this a probably a dumb question, but I'd really appreciate some advice.

I'm planning to buy for my local photography group an Acer Aspire 5672 laptop & a Plus U4-237 digital projector Here is my problem:- the native resolution of the Acer laptop is 1280 x 800 pixels which is not supported by the Plus projector (it's an XGA model). Does anyone know if this combination will work at all or should I give up on the idea?

From the little I know it seems that 1:1 pixel matching gives the best results but I don't know if PC laptops can output an XGA signal (via the DVI-D port for example).

Presumably the screen resolution of the laptop can be set to 1024 x 768 but I'm not even sure about this.

Another possibility that occurred to me is that the Acer will output a S-Video signal which would could go into the S-Video port on the projector. Is this a no no or would it give reasonable quality.

Sorry if these questions have been posted elsewhere but I'd hate to make a mistake as this is not my money.

TIA - limetrees

Well, firstly, if you use DVI-D from laptop, it will probably show up as a second monitor su yo can experijent all you like becasue your main laptop LCD display shouldn't be affected...XGA 1024x768 is a standard resolution so you should be able to achieve 1:1 pixel matching without problems...

...and yes, avoid S-video whenever possible...smaller text would definitely be affected if not unreadable...
