hdmi adaptor

Hi everyone
Will i need ahdmi adaptor if i try to connect my toshiba laptop to a sanyo z4 pj to watch hd films ,trailers ect?
if not what do i have to do to get a connection ?
thanks in advance to all those boffins who seem to be able to help so often .

Assuming you have DVI out on the laptop then you can use either a DVI->HDMI adaptor with a HDMI lead or just purchase a lead with DVI on one end and HDMI on the other.

Sorry i have not got a hdmi but i have a 15 pin connector to marry up with the 15 pin on the sanyo ,will this enable me to get a picture off my laptop?
the laptop is a new one a toshiba f20 qosmio.I WILL BE BUYING THE SANYO AT THE END OF THE MONTH (when i get paid) i have already purchased an oppo dvd player to go with it & was told the picture going by computer is the best .

You'll be able to watch most HD trailers you can download at the moment but you're not going to be able to watch copy protected material (which works through digital connections only).

can i have my laptop converted to show hd?
also what will in your oppinion will the picture be like on the sanyo z4
when i show the trailers?
