Projector Connectivity Help

Hello everyone,

I have posted this before but decided to try one last time.

I want to upgrade from my existing 42 inch Hitachi Plasma to a projector and screen. I have a 22ft by 16ft exact rectangle room that would really benefit from an 8ft screen.

Here lies my problem.

How do I connect all my kit without running masses of video cables to the middle or back of the room? The plasma tuner box is good cause it sits under my tv in the cabinet and allows all my kit to be connected to it with no cables in sight. I need to be able to connect my DVD player, my Xbox 360 and my Digi box to the projector.

Do any projectors come with a tuner box or something equivalent where I can just run a single cable to the projector?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

People usually adopt one of the following options:

1. Use some sort of switching box (can cost anywhere between £50 and a few hundred quid)

2. Use their AV amp if it has the ability.

3. Buy a scaler (mucho wonga)

4. Suffer the cables

I recall recently commenting on a PJ which did come with a separate "connections" box and a proprietary "umbilical" connector which carried everything to the projector - looked a neat solution but it wasn't cheap and I don't think it's out yet. All PJs should go this way IMHO.

Get yourself a Yamaha 2600 amp. Run all your cables into that, and run a component and a hdmi from the 2600 to the projector.

Thank you

The Yamaha 2600 amp looks an ideal replacement for my ageing dsp-a2

Thanks
