Sanyo PLV Z4 - Is this the best projector?

Hi everyone, this is my first post on this forum and im hoping you can help me out with a dilemma!

I am wanting to set up my room with a projector and screen for gaming and DVD playback - basically a cinema room for me and the missus and a room to play Half Life 2 and Battlefield in peace!!

The room itself is 12" by 9" - is this big enough to produce a decent size image or would I be better with a plasma/lcd screen???

I have been toying with the idea of buying the Sanyo PLV Z4 as I have heard it is fantastic - even for an LCD. Would this be a good buy for my needs?? Can anyone recommend a better one for what I need it for?

A good screen recommendation would be much appreciated also!

Thanks in Advance
Darren

I have my setup in a living room that is rectangular and as such can only watch stuff on the short length of the room. I have a electric ceiling mounted 2m wide screen and a Panny AE500 on the ceiling at a distance of around 9-10 ft away from the screen, I also sit beneath the pj so the distance is the same and it is wonderfull. Playing games on it is stunning via the xbox 360 and films etc are superb. Even at this distance from the screen I cant see any screen door effect and very minor VB but it aint enough to even think about tbh. I should imagine a Z4 or similar will not have any of the probs like that though.

If it is a dedicated room I would seriously consider a DIY fixed screen. Assuming you can project across the 12' you will have no problems in achieving a 6' wide screen depending on the throw ratio of the eventual PJ you choose.

The whole point of the website was to show what can be done in a small room, and encourage other people with small rooms to 'have a go'.

For your info, projector to screen is approx 12ft x 7.5ft wide.

I have the PJ in my bedroom. Screen above my bed. Sofa down the other end. About 4metres away. 2.5 metre screen. Best thing I ever did
Ignorant people you know will probably tell you that a PJ will be rubbish quality, but in fact its a better picture than you get down the cinema (well it is for me).
