Confused ... hidef on my BenQ6210

Hey guys

im really confused. So i got my projector after looking at the resoloutions and it showing that it can cope with 720p by 1280 and thought thats good enough for me. It says its max res is 1280 by 1024 (i.e. what appears to be vga) so I was happy.

Anyway, just for a test I turned my xbox to 1080i and WHAMO! The projector then said screen res "1920x1080i" or something very similar. It implied it was running 1080i fully at what appears to be widescreen.....

Is it scaling as I thought that it could not do 1920 horizontal lines.... but then the image does not look screwed or anything and appears fine to me!

Native panel resolution of your PJ is 1024 x 768. On 16:9 material, the PJ will scale whatever resolution, 1280 x 720p for instance, into 1024 x 576. Although this isn't exactly true hi-def, it's pretty close and at normal viewing distances should look fairly stunning.

Many thanks for the response.

So it does indeed appear to have very good scaling technology inside it then.

Cheers and have a great xmas!
