Panny AE700 and High Def

Hi guys

I've done a few searches for some keywords, but not really getting to where I want

Can anyone authorative voice help me out please??? I've got an AE700, and I remember when I bought it early in the year there were a few threads doing the rounds about problems using the HDMI connection, specifically about flashing, and with the Denon 2910 I think. Its running on firmware 1.03, I don't reallly want to send it back to Panny as it seems to take ages to come back, but I am thinking of upgrading my DVD player, and the Denon looks like its winning at the moment. Does anyone know if there are any problems using the DVI out on the Denon with a DVI to HDMI cable? Or does anyone know of a player that dosen't have the flashing problem with HDMI on this PJ, price range anywhere from about £250 to £700 - not decided how much to spend yet

Many thanks for your help people!
Matt

Hi,
I have my Denon 2910 connected via DVI to HDMI on my AE700, it was hopeless on HDMI to HDMI as it flashed continuously. All I did was invest in an HDMI/DVI connector and now runs perfect. I had to buy the connector as the 10m HDMI to HDMI ( Van Den Hul ) cable was already installed in the walls and ceiling before I checked that it was ok.

It is seemingly a common fault with the Denon 2910 and the Panny AE700 projector when used together. You will have no problems at all running from the DVI output

Cheers,
Mike.

AE700 and 2910 Flashing

I had the same problem, AE700 to 2910 connected from HDMI to HDMI, and it would flash to back maybe once each half an hour or so. It turned out to be the 1.03 software. I returned it to Panasnoic for an upgrade (it took 4 weeks) but it now has 1.07 software and runs fine. The new software has also significantly reduced the size of the blocks that appear when the AE700 is forced to process high-frequency, low-contrast stuff like running water, although it's still not perfect.
