Connect eqipment to projector

Hello there i am new ot this and would much appreciate the help,

I have a sony str-db1070 and a panasonic ptae 100 projector. The tv i have is phillips,

Could you please tell me the best possible way to connect my dvd player to the projector, would it be ok to have an s - video cable coming from the dvd player to the amp and then running a long s - video cable to the projector?

Also, could i have a cable coming from my xbox which normally goes to the scart cable in the back of my television directly to the amp via another s - video and then playing it through the cable from my amp to the projector,

Finally, would i be able to connect my tv to the projector and if so how because the only s - vidoe i can see on my phillips is on the side and is an in and not an out. And could the freeview be connected by a scart cable coming from the box and then going to an s-video to the amp,

Thanks for any help that can be supplied it is much appreciated, and please let me know if the sony str db1070 amp will be able to play all these connections through it,

Thanks again, Tom.

S video isn't really the best way to connect such things but I've been running my system like that for the last few months and its not bad. My limitation was that my old DVD player didn't have component output so I took a cheap and easy way out.

Ideally you should use a component connector for the best picture but not all amps can handle such a variety and number of connections. (My Yamaha has 2 sets of component inputs and 1 output).

For your TV you should check the owners manual, the scart connectors sometimes have S-video connections built in but I'm not sure they work both ways, I bought a scart to S-video adaptor to get an S-video signal out of my freeview box into the AV amp.

Hi, thanks for this help, i have got my freeview box going to the amp by a scart to s-video cable, the dvd s-video to s-video and the xbox an s-video cable to the amp,

Then a long s-video running to my projector,

All this works fine and gives a pretty good picture 6ft by 4ft.

Thanks alot, Tom.
