HT 1100 DLP or AE900 LCD (or Z4 LCD)? Help...

Hi everyone
I need help please. I am so confused about whether I should choose NEC HT 1100 DLP or LCD Panasonic AE900 or Sanyo Z4.

Actually I like to make presentations on my Mac and slideshows. So the image accuracy and quality and sharpness are very important. I am gonna use my projector at home so not for professional use.

The AE900 and Z4 are 16:9 but the HT1100 is native 4:3. And my presentations and picture are also 4:3.

DO I need to choose 4:3 native projector or the LCD ones are also OK??

Which ones picture quality is better do you think? Is someone out there who have experience with these projectors?

HT1100 is a little bit pricey for me but if it is really really good then i might buy one...

or LCDs have better image picture quality? what do you think

Thanks in advance guys...

I am looking forward to your answers...

With the 16:9 PJs you'll get black vertical bars with your 4:3 slideshows, but with the 4:3 PJ you'll get wider horizontal bars when watching DVDs.

Don't be fooled by their claims of 4:3/16:9 switchable. Basically all the machines do is switch off pixels and you may get light spill over the black borders.

I think the choice is down to what you are going to use it for most...PJ

The AE900 and Z4 are Home Cinema projectors so have lower lumens and greater contrast than Data Projectors which are the oposite and have higher lumens and less contrast.

Home cinema projectors work best in light controlled rooms (dark or some minor light)

The Z4 is reported as the sharpest out of the recent crop of home cinema projectors but it only by a tiny margin.

The AE900 uses something called SmoothScreen so isnt as sharp but you dont see the pixel structure when sat close. The AE900 also has a scart socket which is useful for video players.

Widescreen (16:9) is becomming very popular in home cinema as DVD's and TV shows are migrating to this format.

Anyway, if its a data projector for presentation use then these projectors won't offer you the best bang for buck imo.

Thank you guys for our reply

it is going to be for my slide data presentations so i think i dont need high lumen anyway... the image sharpness and perfections is more important for me and i do not mind the black side bars on the LCDs when it is 4:3 resolution

so on which one you think data and slide looks better? LCD or DLP i mentioned above.

Thanks again
